Our Story

xWRK was born from years of cutting-edge research in deep learning and scaling laws. Below is a brief timeline of how our journey unfolded.

  • 2015 – 2018  |  University of Toronto

    While pursuing his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science, founder Ryan Loughty authored influential papers on deep neural network scaling theory, demonstrating how model capacity, data and compute interact to drive performance. His work laid foundational insights that are still cited by researchers today.

  • 2018 – 2021  |  Scaling AI Agent Swarms

    Ryan applied his scaling principles to production, leading initiatives inside several blue-chip enterprises. He designed AI agent swarms—co-operating collections of specialised agents—that processed millions of transactions, cut operational costs, and improved customer satisfaction for household-name banks, retailers and telecoms.
